It's kind of a long answer... but basically it simply depends on the hemp and wool that you're talking about. There is really yucky itchy wool out there (tends to be peruvian or virgin wool) and there's also really yummy soft comfy wool (merino). Then there's hemp that by its self is a bit stiff and not all that soft, but blended with a cotton it becomes more supple and comfortable. The hemp that I used is a cotton, hemp and modal blend so it's really nice to wear, but the more hemp content the less soft it'll be, but I wouldn't compare the "itchiness" to wool. What makes wool itchy is usually the lanolin (natural grease) that is let in the wool. The more the wool is processed, the less itchy it'll be. Hemp doesn't have that problem with it being a cellulosic fiber.
